Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Billy Graham presents, from the stage of the Carousel Ballroom... Looks like quite a production. Superb image, outstanding POV.

With very few exceptions, you can keep the 80s. But yeah ... great photo! :)

It must have been very loud, lol... Nice shot. Aloha

Van Halen. Oh dear! That takes me back a bit...and makes me recall a couple of stringy-haired metal-heads/head-bangers, and then cringe at the thought that I had quite a thing for one of them. I love the photo though, especially the purplish lights recalling the Mother Ship. This rocks!

Hmmmmmm, Van Halen. That takes me back. I was never a huge fan, but I didn't hate them either. They were all right for what they were and WHEN they were. Some of their singles were pretty decent, and I actually bought "Dance The Night Away" as a 45 in 1979/80. Would I want to listen to an entire album of their music? Probably not. And now I shall remove my musical opinion bandanna and replace it with my photographic opinion beret, and state that I think this photo RRRROOOOOOOOCCCCCCKKKKKKKSSSSSS!!! In all senses of the word. What an amazing (and amazingly CLEAR) shot! (I used to work in a large entertainment venue, so I know how hard it is to get good pictures in that environment.) I love the lighting, and especially the purple! This really takes me back to when I was still working and the jazz you would feel during and after a good show. This just before the inevitable buzz-kill of dealing with promoters who'd signed a contract but now wanted to weasel out of paying the rest of their bill. Amazing shot!
