Description

Thought I would use my new model and the Viking and Highlander figures by Tony at Realms Art for a Viking landing of Scottish shores. There are 28 full Poser figures in this composition and this is quite doable by using the template and single Vue window as I have described in the earlier WIP postings this past week. The render takes a bit of a hit due to the MetaClouds that i have brought right down to the shoreline... but the results are worth it. As I often say.. a year from now you will not remember the render time, just the quality of the composition in front of you.... go that extra mile. While my Viking ship should show up on Cornucopia3D this weekend.... hopefully, I am turning my attention to do a battle scene using Tony's figures.

Wonderful painting that stands out in a class of its own here at Renderosity. Especially the sail and the mist is wonderful! A minor point: The rocks are of the normal Vue quality. As much as I love the image, I also long for renders where you see people properly, the face and their emotions with different clothing on every person. Also you don't see the marvelous quality of the model in this picture.

Appreciate the kind comments everyone... and Vin... my next effort will be a battle scene close up based around the old drawings of such.... each figure different as you mentioned.. but this will take me time. I spent two weeks modeling the ship, and the render alone on this was over 50 hrs and this is just a 15x20" at 72dpi. I'll have to wait a while before I can re-render this at 300 for printing to canvas. I'll will never make the charts here and that's all right. What's important is I continue to get better, share my thoughts, and hopefully inspire in my small corner of historical composition. I do hope to create a model that has more the 15-20 buyers someday... maybe if I put breasts on it!...

The front of the ships... I think this is great!! Will keep my eyes open for it at Cornucopia and may support Tony as well - I need little people... Question about the 50 hours, do you think it was the number of objects that you used? Ah, I re-read, it was the meta-cloud.

This is wonderful and well worth the render time for the mist (I just can't afford to tie up my computer for that long). Beautifully done, your ship looks great!!

This image is just one example of the creativity that lay nested at this gallery, a must for all to see and time well spent I might add. This is what the creators of all the software packages mastered here hoped for, talent such as this to take interest in their product. You’re a true 3D artist and you have my appreciation for all your fine art gifts.
