Description
The Teide bugloss (Echium wildpretii), whose red flowers form a pyramid up to 3m in height, are considered almost the island's symbol. Unfortunately they flourish in May-early June and it was too late to see them in their red splendor. The Teide Daisy (Argyranthemum teneriffae) can be found at altitudes close to 3,600m above sea level. The Teide Violet (Viola cheiranthifolia) can be found right up to the summit of the volcano, making it the highest flowering plant in Spain.
Thank you for your kind comments.
PS I was appalled by the STAMPEDE OF UPLOADS recently encouraged by the astute marketing policy in RR. It ALLOWS three uploads a day, but it DOES NOT OBLIGE to do it. Thus, put a hand on your hearts, and think: do you really wish to force a person like myself to spend half a second per image at most, in order to leave an even leaner, more stereotyped comment in each gallery? Nobody is going to summon the firing squad to kill you if you upload less (I hope, ;D).

Fantastic capture. It looks like an alien landscape. You can see the green natives waving hello. I like this series, very interesting place I may never get to.

Beautiful barren landscape capture Sandra.. Have to say I agree with you on the upload comments Sandra especially the "It ALLOWS three uploads a day, but it DOES NOT OBLIGE to do it." I'm getting too many now..

Fantastic Work:)

I briefly toyed with the idea of subscribing so I could post 3 pics awhile back, but knew I couldn't ever keep that pace up, nor, in the final analysis, did I even want to try! One pic a day is plenty enough for me and my simple mode of creativity! It keeps me happy and perhaps a bit too sassy, according to my wife, anyway! Very nice capture here in this scene, Sandra! Most excellent photography!!!

outstanding landscape.I am doing three because I have several interests, however it will not bother me if you only look at the one to your liking

Beautifully captured Sandra. On the surface it looks similar to Arizona, i.e. dry. I like your comment about uploads, it seems to some quantity is more important than quality.

What a gorgeous image; I think this is what my Muse looks like and so it has me wondering how you managed that! Is my Muse a volcano in Spain? Is my photographic and literary inspiration little more than one or two particles of pollen from a "flowering volcano" in Spain, somehow making a trans-Atlantic journey and getting stuck in my nose? There are stranger things in the world than volcanic muses, I think. But still... ...Anyway, I bring all of that up, because this is precisely the kind of image that always inspires me. There's an element to this that reminds me of the photographs sent back from Mars, from the two Viking probes that landed there and took pictures of virtually everything there was to see in their immediate regions. They didn't photograph plants or life of any sort, but still...those images are incredibly evocative to me, and this is evocative in precisely the same way! Needless to say, it's also a favorite! Your work is always engaging and of extreme interest, and this is no exception. It's brilliantly seen and presented, and I'm really impressed by the sense of scale. And as for multiple uploads...yeah, it can be a bit daunting, overwhelming, and time-consuming. For me, however, I just comment when I can and browse back through galleries at a later date. I kinda like that method, it's like going to an art museum but visiting only one part of that museum per day/week, or whatever...there's always something new even if it's been there for longer than you've been alive. Brilliant, vibrant, and deliciously alive work!

I love the surreal alien look of this place. Indeed, the producers of Doctor Who should be told of this place for it no doubt could server well as the back drop for one of his adventures. Beautiful place. Actually, I would happily trade three uploads per day with an increased upload size limit. Too often I've had to compress a rendering or photo in order to get it to fit here.

Bellissima trasformazione,Sandra! X quanto riguarda piĆ¹ publicazioni...x me non sarebbe veramente possibile. :)

Beautiful image! The textures and colors made me think of the first verse of 'Tapestry' by Carol King. "Rich and royal hues... wondrous woven magic in bits of blue and gold." Marvelous colors, light, and textures! I've given up trying to answer each ebot. I look at them all, but go back and pick out favorites when I visit each gallery.
