Well, I'm late, but only by about 40 minutes--does it still count as a birthday wish??
As I was going thru my files to find you the perfect birthday foto, Chip (and do you know how often I write that as Chop?? My typing teacher was always on my case for making those kinds of mistakes!! lol), I saw all kinds of things I thought you might like. Grand vistas, huge scenes of beauty from wonderful places, sweet flowers and my own personal faves--the surfer shot. BUT, when I saw the swan boats in Boston and the kid with the backwards hat looking so bored I was afraid he'd fall off the boat, I knew I'd found it. You'll get the humor, the silly stuff people do because someone said, "Oh, you HAVE to go on the swan boat when you go to Boston", and the kid who's just trying to make a buck to get himself thru school (that's my take on him, but who knows, maybe he OWNS the damn boat and just like to cruise around on it once in a while).
ANYWAY, this one's for you, my friend--have GREAT day and don't let the candles melt your birthday cake!!!

Oh, this rocks! Well, it doesn't seem to have actual sides, so maybe it shouldn't...but you know what I mean. A swan boat! I've seen a lot, but I've never seen that and it's worth a trip to Boston for! I love the quirky things people will do. I love the fact that somebody actually thought this out and figured that it was a good idea to construct a...well...a nautical swan fantasy? This is so brilliantly seen and so telling. And maybe I'd been spending too much time with Pavl a while back, but one of the first things I noticed was the actual duck sharing water space with this swan! How perfectly seen and captured. And yeah, there's so much to really enjoy in this shot and bored boy really adds an extra element to it. Imagine the stories you could tell, just by looking at this! Thank you for the dedication and pic! I love this!

LOL! What a marvellous bit of advertising kitsch! Can you imagine the boy telling people what he does at work? He probably mumbles and says he's unemployed. :P Great dedi for Chip! I can see why he likes this. :D

It took a second look to realize that everyone in the picture is on the 'boat'. It looks a bit unstable but I'm sure its a pleasent float around the lake. A perfectly whimsical image for Chip's birthday.

What a great shot! If Chip and I ever go to Boston I can definitely see us riding the swan boats. And probably playing bumper cars (bumper boats?) with them. He should like this.
