Description


The Spanish Peaks of South Central Colorado have been among the most important landmarks of the Southwestern United States. Guiding Native Americans Tribes, Spanish and French trappers, Gold seekers and American Settlers. The Ute,Comanche, and Apache held the Peaks in religious awe and named the mountains "Wahatoya" meaning " The Breast of the Earth". The peak to the left is the East Peak and is 12683 ft above Sea level. The Peak to the right is the West Peak and is 13625 ft above sea level. These facts have been researched using Google. Beautiful color, detail, and light! There is a wonderful contrast between the warm, deep, brown of the foreground and the cool grays and blues of the mountains. Stunning capture and great information.
