Description
My carrara learning continues.
This is without any post as you can see in the terrible shaders on the griffin.
But I did make some way on volumetric clouds, and placing trees and grass. I built this scene myself - ok not the models but all the placement, the terrain the volumetric clouds and what not.
Starting to see how easy using instances is. It only took me about 30 hours so far of messing around with them to figure them out.
Cripeman did an awesome tutorial on terain and placing trees. Wish I had seen it before I did my last image would have saved me a lot of time.
I also found a tutorial by PhilW on doing cloud domes.
I'm still not quite sure how to do lighting with the sun. I didn't really care for just adding a bulb without shadows... so now that I can build a scene I just need to learn how to light it.
Here is the link to the tutorial -

Hehe... I'm the other way around.... I know the lighting but not how to create a decent terrain..... sigh I have to do a search for the tut you mentioned. The griffin is a realy cutie, no matter the shaders! You did a great job on this - please keep it up and continue to share your work with us! Thank you! ~Sassy~

Wow, great sky and terrain. The griffin shaders are actually quite good, i think. I'd add more bump (set it in the Top Shader panel of the Shader tree) and probably play with the highlights and shininess a bit. Also pre-multiplied alpha might be needed for the feathers (render room settings). Good luck! I look forward to seeing more of your Carrara work.
