Description

Hello again! I was very happy about your comments and your ratings for my yesterday`s pic, thanks, friends (and a very special Thanks for her/him, who took it as a favorite.... Today a second look inside this litte village church.... If we can see, they have an organ inside. This instrument is "new", please imagine that the church was without an organ for its first 500 years... The organ can be 200 years, maximal 300 years old, not more, maybe only 100 years... In the row of priests are many women in the old days: Women? In a catholic church? Huh? St. Michael´s church of Krummin was for many centuries part of a nun`s cloister nearby, and the prioresses of the nuns cloister were chiefs here, even when the priests were men. Not only the church was owned by the nuns, the whole village Krummin with all its inhabitants (and a few villages more with humans, cattle and acres) was owned by the nuns. The farmers were practically their slaves, they had to do fron working for the cloister for some weeks in the year. Holy shit, those were the days... it was common in all parts of northern Germany. The cloister existed from 1210 till 1563, at last 8 nuns lived here. Meanwhile the reformation took place in Germany, the christs divided themselves into catholics and protestants and the northern part of Germany became protestantic till today. In 1550 the 28. priest, ANTON RAMBATZ, took the reformation, broke the coelibat and married a wife....From this day St.Michael is a protestantic church. This church here resisted the religious 30-Years-War (1618-1648) and 150 years of occupation of Sweden, resisted Napoleon, WW I and WW II, Nazi fascism and 40 years of communism... and it is in function till today! Thanks for your interest and thanks for your comments, they are always helpful. billcody
