Description

Windows in an old schoolhouse in Tillamook, Oregon. I'll spare you the story about how we were told this building housed a quilt museum when it actually didn't. I did like the building, though!

I love the light. You've given it a softness that's satiny and really inviting; what a beautiful shot!

I remember having windows with transoms in school. There were so high, we had a special pole with a hook on the end to open and close them. And Denise is right; the light is wonderful, soft as a cloud!!

This is dreamy and soft and deliciously lit...I love the pattern of the windowpanes and their supports and the overall "feel" of this place. This is superbly gorgeous!

I like the play of light and tones - as we at times look to a subject to give our image justification - forgetting we are painting with light - I am among the guilty - so this is also a nice reminder that when all else fails - go back to the basics :)

I agree with SoulEater...you've reminded us of Photography 101:) A limited pallet...repetition...parallel lines and gorgeous light and shadows. It was a neat building:*

Wonderful photo and such a lovely light. I watched a proramme this week about how the tiny windows installed for cheapness in newbuild housing can induce actual illness..like Type 2 diabetes, and not just depression and anxiety. When our predecessors lived in hovels with tiny windows they were outside all day, so they didn't get the same problems. How's that for a weird ramble on you lovely pic!

AWWW! You got a lovely capture here, Tara :) It reminds me of the holiday camp, I was in, when I was a little school girl. A bunch of kids could come to such places when they lived in the city, just to get more sun and fresh country air. The building we were staying in for 3 weeks had very large windows, to give us kids as much sunlight as possible. And you know what?.. The building is still there. Was bought of a friend of mine, which wasnt my friend when she bought it. It is about 10 minutes drive from here :) While I was there as a kid with some of my school friends and many other kids, my grandma was living a few minutes walk away and I was so proud to bring my friends to her and get warm milk with pancakes :) Awesome memories :) THank you for that :)

I love the windows and the light. I've always preferred the older windows, especially with transoms, what style!

Wonderful play of light and shadow. I also had schoolroom with the transom and pole with a hook on it in grade school.

Gorgeous lighting here, Tara! The soft, romantic glow is perfect - it trandport us to another place in time. Just perfect! Do I detect a little fiddling with VP? LOL!
