Description
A montage of shots of Poole Quay, my town of birth where many of my tribe still reside. The Quay has been heavily developed and 'improved' in the way that irradicates most signs of character. But there are still some interesting things to look at. On the left is the Royal National Life boat museaum, based at a former life guard station along the quay. On the top right is the Jolly Sailor pub where we ate and in front of it, one of those delights of seaside towns- a train that drives on the road with a smelly diesel engine and a fat bloke at the controls.
I felt so chuffed with myself at capturing the seagull in mid-flight I felt duty bound to draw attention to it with an enhanced exploded inset of the gull in question.
Let me know what you think and whether this Mums photo-album approach to holiday snaps works for you.

Isn't Poole 'sea level' these days? I'm pretty sure it was always measured at Liverpool until dredging altered the tides in the 60's.It was then moved to Poole as it has the most predictable tidal range. But I digress, love the term 'Mums photo-album'....the style works for me.The in-flight is well worth the attention, as to the 'train'....they've been talking about one of these for New Brighton for a few years.....thankfully nothing has come of it yet! as you'll surmise, I'm a big fan.....NOT!!!! Though the photo is worthwhile for the buxom lass in the long dress, nice to see some people still dress up to 'promenade' along the sea front.Add to that a pub called 'The Jolly Roger' and you've got a winner.....
