Description
today I went to Geoff Woods's humble abode and after two cups of tea and an afternoon pouring over one tiny portion of his incredible archive of exquisite large format landscape images......he ever so kindly sent me home with his film scanner so I could dust of some of my old stuff to share....Thanks man, you are the salt of the earth... this one's for you (even though you don't drink!)
I created this image for fun as I had not shot alcohol before....one large softbox and a small key spot and a small triangular reflector behind the shot glass to light it up
shot on 4 x 5 inch ektachrome

I really like doing still life, I can spend hours fiddling with the lighting and composition and not even notice the time :) Very nice lighting - I bet the tranny looked amazing on the lightbox (I know my 6x7 ones used to! never got round to using my 5x4 :( )

The large file precludes seeing all at once, even on this wide screen monitor..yet that brings the wonderful detail to light. Lighting is excellent as is soft touch. I am so glad you did not try to go over sharp with this as some do today with everything. Excellent compo and imaging..love it.

I almost made it out to the Jack Daniels Distillery last weekend I was in Nashville unfortunately I ran out of time, this is really a nice image, great lighting and technique.
