I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Cool catch!

I love this. Full size you can see the different groups/families and how there is no space wasted along the rocks. The water is a gorgeous color and this is really a crisp, clear and well composed shot.

Excellent capture, Carin! But there will be enough fish for all these fishermen? ;)

Great shot! I hope they were all successful.

Super shot Carin and a great catch of the breaker on the other side of the spit.

So now that you've caught them all what are you going to do with them? (har-har) Wonderful wave action and color. For some reason I am attracte to the fellow on the far left who seems to be one of the few actually fishing and is all y himself. A great slice-of-life image.

Excellent capture, Carin; lots of colour and life, and I love the wave crashing behind them!

LOL @ Mark! :D This is a wonderful capture. I love the mood, the action of the waves, the people standing around fishing and doing whatever else they do while their friends and family members fish. Such a sense of purpose! Nicely done, Dierbaar!

How exiting to see all those men in action on this very lively water. A great shot it makes, dear Carin.

i don't know about the catching--most of em seem to be just standing there!! but that's the beauty of fishing--the standing there and hoping for a bite--great shot!!
debbielove
Wow! Mass fishermen! Well caught! Is it safe there? Hope a big wave doesn't come along? Rob

Great capture Carin!

WOW! I love the POV on this; it's like you were on a boat, actually in that exciting water, while those guys were busy doing the guy thing with fishing lines and probably coolers of beer, tucked just out of sight from the occasional eye of a wandering wife. That's how it works near Lake Michigan, and I somehow think that may be a bit more universal than I credit it for. I really love the waves. They're far more active than the fishermen and it's a wonderful contrast. Now, I wonder what they're catching. Something tasty no doubt!

This is a beautiful shot with the waves in the foreground and the spray in the background.
