somewhere near phobos... is a followup to my previous image Mars. This is the same Vue 9i scene with the camera moved near the vicinity of the moon Phobos. Hence the title. Again, these are the high resolution Mars textures available from http://planetpixelemporium.com Phobos is a free .obj and bump map available from the same site. I used the provided bump map in the displacement channel and added some procedural noise to the bump of the 'Gray Rock' material included with Vue. I added the hand painted star & nebula background to provide some contrast. I know, it's not accurate but I think it looks nice. Extra points to you if you're sitting there thinking "yes it's that same stupid purple nebula he's used a dozen times, he's just color shifted it a bit" because... it is. Otherwise, this is just a case of me not wanting to let this super-cool-looking Mars scene for Vue 9i go to waste with just one image. So here's another. There will likely be a third. You are warned.
