My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I would like to hug that furry one! haahaa This is a great shot! Contrast of the grass to the fur is so nice!

Your photo shows Jobu to be a powerhouse of stored energy. He has his eyes on you as I would expect a predator from the animal kingdom would. Light wasn't in your favor in the shady part of Jobu's yard but I like the way his light colored fur picks up the ambient light that is there and even magnifies it. Excellent image:*

Wonderful capture he looks so content and at peace

What an interesting creature: a lot closer to his original ancestors than, say...a chihuahua! What a graceful creature, even at rest with flies buzzing around. When I look at some dogs, especially the larger, graceful ones, I often find myself wondering if they were (in some way) the basis for the Mechs in Gregory Benford's "Galactic Center" novels...they were graceful things...a machine intelligence, completely alien, and hostile in ways that were not your average, workaday science fiction cliche. It's odd how looking at a wolf-derived companion animal (of which petting is not allowed) reminds me of those lethal, graceful, Microwave-spewing aliens with clever ways of destroying life on various planets. Funny the directions my mind goes into...especially when faced with really good photographic art. What a creature! What a shot of the creature! You do him justice!

Handsome looking beast, but I'd rather have a Bichon Frise...or something a lot smaller and more approachable.

So handsome! I once had a firewood supplier who had three of these, and they were quite friendly; they loved being petted!

You can definitely sense the wildness in him, that he hasn't been completely tamed as most dog breeds have over generations. A handsome animal...
