Description
This was taken in the Estes N.P. which borders with Moraine N.P. in Colorado, USA. Bill (bmac62) mentioned the settlers negotiating the terrain in yesterdays upload so I couldn't resist this one.

something dramatic must have happened here, a family does NOT abandon their wagon. Great capture

Tough job to work one of these through mountainous terrain. I don't think this wagon is as old as it appears, though the running gear may well be. I helped with minor blacksmithing on several of these old wagons, and in building one, and re-tiring them (the tire is the iron rim around the outside of the wheel).

A lovely capture and they surely took these wagons into the most unlikely places didn't they. It was great that they left this one for you to capture.

A great looking conestoga wagon from the old wagon trains moving west. Estes N.P. looks very nice also. Dana
