Description
These two little kids look excited about being in the water. They seem to be unfamiliar with the texture of the sand on their feet and the feel of the little waves and they seem to be fascinated by the movement of these little waves. They are exploring and discovering new sensations, the little boy going in one direction, the little girl in the other, while mom is making sure it is safe.
There were many families on Ipanema Beach this Sunday morning, and it seemed to be safe.
The warning to tourist is 'don't leave anything unattended while on the beach' and 'don't go on the beach after dark'.

I love it that children the world over react to water in the same way. It isn't cultural, it isn't learned behavior ... it's just how we are as a species. That's quite a comforting thought. It's difficult to think of anyone as an enemy when you look at the world from the perspective of little kids everywhere squealing when they get in the water. This is a great shot! I love the shape of the waves coming and going. Nice capture!
