Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Short skirt not advised :-) Great image Bill, it must have been a bit pricey, unless you put a stamp on your head and went parcel post......

great shot

Wow!...and I thought it was difficult to walk across the tarmac and climb the stairs into the plane as opposed to walking through the slanted tunnel without going outside. Haha! Interesting shot.

Great capture, Bill

Great shot of this antique--but fabric-covered? That doesn't seem terribly safe...but I guess they worked. You know my feeling about traveling that far above the ground! I just booked my trip to England for October, so I have to start steeling my nerves now...

Very nice shot of this classic.

Beautiful photo. I wonder how she got up the wing in a long slim skirt like that? And the cockpit is behind the wing - to avoid the air force from the propeller, I assume. And only two blades on the propeller. Amazing! The floor and doors couldn't be canvas, but the rest - sit still and don't fall against the side! And today, large warm pressurized cabins.

Great image Hugs Susan~

Great looking aircraft and female passenger. Boeing comes through again. Clarity and detail in lavish amounts in this stellar capture, Bill.

A lovely capture but she must have had great difficulty to stay dignified, and get up into the plane without showing a lot of leg or more. lol.

People did used to dress up to travel--not anymore!!

Sheesh! Even in 1927, I'm sure they had little step-stools for that nice lady to climb up on before stepping onto the wing. Surely they wouldn't make her scramble up there in a slim skirt, after she paid all that money to fly somewhere. Great shot, hon!

Very nice!

You find the best plains to photograph. It took me a minute to find the cockpit – not the best view from that far back. Fantastic POV Bill and those shoes made for a tough climb up that wing. Dana
