Description
I�m still in Balboa Park, San Diego, California, US. This is the California Bell Tower and San Diego Museum of Man. Both were part of the 1915 Panama California Exposition that was held in conjunction with the opening of the Panama Canal. The California Tower is one of the most prominent landmarks in San Diego. Info from Wikipedia. 1984 photo scanned. Zoom will give you a better look at the dome and tower details.

Dana, when I saw these last two images of yours I thought they were taken somewhere in Latin America. I have seen them because I was there in November 2009, but my pictures of them are not nearly as nice as yours. I like this hispanic heritage of San Diego, that is one reason I like to go over there.

You keep showing me this sort of thing from San Diego and I'll have to add it to my visit list. I'll bet these buildings when constructed for the 1915 exhibition weren't meant to last 100 years. They still look great I am sure.
