Description

Eel River, about a month ago. Tomorrow I'm getting in my truck and heading home. I've been in Huntington Beach for nearly a year (!!) with a couple of short trips north. This last weekend, I felt a pull I couldn't resist, so off I go. Life has twists and turns, detours and side roads and I have no idea where my next journey will take me. I do know it doesn't really matter, because my heart and soul go with me every step of the way. That's all that really counts. I'll be back down this way; it's my second home and I love it. I am blessed to have people here who love me and whom I love as well. It doesn't get any better than that.

Lucky you, although I don't know if I could have stayed away from Northern California that long. Soutern Cal has its attractions but there is an awfull lot of concrete and traffic.

Great Scott! Where has the time gone? I couldn't be away from my house for more than a few days. You are much more adventurous than me! This pic is so refreshing!

I'm a bit late, but safe travels...go with God and all of that good stuff...I'd say that last bit in Spanish, but I don't know Spanish. Oh well. As for journeys, twisty roads, obscure and surprising paths...yeah, I'm familiar with those and I love them, especially with oddballs with accents (mostly Czech) walking a part of the way and pointing at the funny ducks in the pond. I love this shot, and maybe I was thinking about some loopy Czech people, but the first thing I thought was that there were some small people with green hair in need of a trim, sunning themselves along the riverbank. I love those clumps of growth, they seem so friendly and the whole picture seems so relaxed, so peaceful, so inviting. You captured it perfectly and this is a super, humdinger of a shot!
