Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The reason that most guitarists close there eyes is they dont want to see the singer screaming at him to turn the dam volume down. (I am talking from experience) Top capture!

Off the charts cool in this outstanding photograph, Marilyn! I'm intrigued by how the guitar matches the dude's apparel.

I think its a bit of a Zen thing. You become the music, you are the notes. The vibration passes through you and you are carried away. Outstanding example of this. Black and white was an excellent choice.

Beautiful capture of emotion in the moment- thanks for sharing! :)

For me, this captures the visual essence of bliss, and it's perfect in black and white, because the emotional dynamic is so much stronger that way...at least for me. There are those times when you can close your eyes and do virtually anything and music, I think, lends itself to that so perfectly. It's a sensual thing, ultimately...when you make music, you're using your body--hands, fingers, arms...the parts you touch the world with...and then you're using your ears. I think there's a point where making music and dancing are nearly one-in-the-same...purely sensual and not visual at all...not if you're participating in it as he's most-definitely doing here. And WOW! You caught it so spot-on perfectly. I can't hear the song he's playing, but I can see it in that blissful expression. This rocks!

Nice shot but you ain't feelin the music till youv'e been there down that - there is no way words can express - to experience is the only way to know !

What a great shot! This guy is clearly transported by the music, and totally into what he's doing. It surpasses my understanding how anyone could feel that way about a Van Halen tune, but ... there it is. Converting this to b&w was a brilliant choice. Outstanding photo!
