Description

Captured 4/21/11, in the early morning, within walking distance of my daunting dwelling. Definite ZOOM item. I have long forgotten the variety of this particular beauty -- in a pinch I call them Peppermint Stick roses. Before posting this pic, I ran a quick search on Google for its true identity, but came up with absolutely nothing. Unlike Andrea, I really don't have much time and patience for research on flora. So I do what I can in the time allotted for such matters. I mainly concentrate on shooting and postworking the photos, then let the petals (aka chips) fall where they may. Anyway, I'm sure that one or more of the flower connoisseurs out there in RR land will ID this rose in no time. I think this one is called "Candy Stripe".....but whatever the name, it is certainly a magnificent Rose. Awesome shot of it. Hard as Roses are to grow here, this one almost makes me want to try again. Almost.

Wow, what a tasty beauty this is, Harry! It looks like it should have a peppermint scent, but I'll bet it doesn't...I don't know the variety, but it sure is lovely. Great capture!
