Description
A most unique one for Denise, captured 5/8/11, at the Fullerton Arboretum, situated on the beautiful campus of California State University Fullerton in beautiful Fullerton, California.
Worth a ZOOM.
So, how rustic can you get? A bench created from the trunk of a tree, that is still rooted in the ground. It even has an armrest. This is literally getting back to nature. I suspect this work of art was done with the use of a power saw. It seems too cleanly cut for a chainsaw. Maybe jocko500 did this with his tools. And I did sit on it for a few moments. Serves the purpose, but not overwhelmingly comfortable. One practical thing, though - it would be a heck of a task to steal.
And, from the looks of it, the Arboretum is in dire need of better maintenance.
Toodles, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all complimentary comments.

Way to go Harry. What do you think...laid off workers at the arboredum...California with no money?

This is so cool Harry. Wonderful textures and cracking marks. And it is still connected to the root system. You find the coolest "stuff". Dana

Cool find and wonderful capture! Marvelous detail and textures. I've seen tree trunks, still in the ground, made into statues, but not into benches before. This is great!
