Description
Captured 4/15/11, early in the AM, within walking distance of my honorable hovel.
Utterly ZOOM worthy.
This should be the last of my roses for a while; there are hundreds more in my files, but it would be remiss of me to overlook all my other subject matter that are straining at the leash to be exhibited.
Cheerybye, thankx for tuning in, and for and and all laudatory comments.

The light seems to be painting this beautiful rose for you; it just begs to be touched. What a wonderful capture, Harry!

One of the landmarks of your flower series is the variety you get in each shot. Variations on a theme. Denise said, "the light seems to be painting this beautiful rose for you; it just begs to be touched..." Great comment, and accurate too. But I also know that 'getting' that light is a big job, and then postworking it for clarity (ie, without destroying it) is an equally big job. The shadows are as prominent as the lights, and the textures of some of these leaves is like silk, almost delicate glass. And you've handled the contrast against a dark background beautifully too. Wonderful job in a wonderful series, Harry. And a great follow-up to that guy shooting flowers, from a day or two ago. This is the result when the photographer has the right eye & discipline. Beautiful capture.

Beautiful light and color! I love the shadows and the ribbons of light caught on the edges of some of the petals. Each petal is wonderfully distinct. Then they combine into such a gorgeous rose. Lovely soft color and texture. It does beg to be touched. Excellent capture!
