My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Makes a fab silhoette picture Tara.

Wonderful! It amazes me, (although I feel I would have been able to do it when I was a youngster.) A superb and atmospheric pic.

A beautiful capture and the silhouette of the paddler and the rocks is very effective.

Like the softness throughout this photo...lends a certain atmosphere...an aire of mystery... Things were so calm when we saw this young man that I had the feeling he was walking on water. Imagine not taking the ferry but SUP'ing across the Sound instead.

This is a great shot, Tara. The sillouettes in the foreground and the soft blue/bluegray background work very well together. And this could be from anywhere in the world. My first impression was of an aboriginal fisherman in Africa or Asia.

WOW new to me where the soul meets anywhere can float warm hugs, Linda Kaye

This has the kind of otherworldly vibe that I totally go for; nobody does this on Lake Michigan, but then nobody really does much with Lake Michigan. He's very moody, you know--what with all of those undertows and stuff. I think it looks better there than here, though; far more atmospheric with all sorts of interesting silhouettes and unexpected verticals. I really like this a lot. I think there's a story in this image; I'll have to let my Muse get a hold of it, just as soon as she's done doing her Frau Unibrow by way of Lady Gaga impersonation. Muses are such weird things.

A real work of art here, Tara! The silhoette of the paddler and the posts, and the soft, limited colors give this a very ethereal look. Just lovely, my dear friend!

Beautiful! I love the blue tones, the silver of the water, and the dark silhouettes of the paddler, rocks, and posts. I agree about the softness of the image. I like the way, as my eye travels back into the distance, the shades merge into tranquility. I like the strong contrast and sparkle of light at the front of the image. The paddler looks very relaxed. His pose makes me think of someone ambling down the sidewalk, a bit slouched, with long easy strides. And probably whistling. Excellent shot!
