Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I like eggplant quite a lot: eggplant lasagna, eggplant paste (it's kinda like a decadent dip) and anything else taste you can make with these. I love their color and their succulent, plump, texture. Garden fresh, too! Yeah, now I have to go pester Svetlana for that eggplant recipe she has. She makes this killer pasta sauce with and eggplant base. Nice.

I was sitting here for 5 minutes trying to come up with other "vegetable" jokes (Ie, "how do you grow broccoli?") (I have no clue! You know any plays on words with broccoli??? How about kale? Chard? Escarole???) (The vegetable kingdom isn't funny!) But as you can see, you used up the One Joke, so I'll move on. (Don't think I didn't put 40 tries into "avacado". "You hungry? Have a Cado!" Trust me, it can't be done...) Anyway, you've made an almost 17th C. painting out of this, like Caravaggio or even Rembrandt: Ie, intense warm hues surrounded by intense dark hues. And it all opens to the front, a kind of "cornucopia". Very painterly, and great looking veggies & fruits. (I think eggplant is a fruit, since it bears its own seeds...) Also, you've let the 3 brightest plants take center position, as an anchor for the rest of the shot---very well composed, Marilyn. Did you eat all these? I'm vegetarian ya know, the least you coulda done is invite me over for a snack! The center white-ish fruit is perfect as the focal point of the piece; and, like Andrea does in her bottle/flower/mirror still-lifes, you've composed these into a very painterly shot. Fine job. Hope these were as good as they look...
