Description

I took this whilst out camping a couple of weeks ago. That evening, I saw some more Peacocks and Peahens very high up in a tree for the night. I never actually saw any of them fly but I guess they must be able to!

He's a beauty Andrew, it looks to be chained there! (I know it's not). They can fly and did you know it's supposed to be unlucky to have a picture of a peacock in the home? A load of twaddle!

Lovely shot. What a burden those tails must be when it gets muddy.

I saw a toon a few years ago with a female peacock saying to the male. "Very nice, now lets she you get it back in your pants." great shot and colors.

when I was young, I had only seen them in books.then I moved into a house without knowing the neighbor behind was raising them.when they are alarmed at night they make the most weird noise I had ever heard.I had no idea as to what it was until I asked a friend next door very beautiful bird and capture

Peacocks fly, but you don't see them flying for a very specific reason...with those enormous tails, they aren't too graceful about it...they sort of flop around from place to place, really high up and it's a stomach churning sight. You always wonder: Will he make it? Will he make it? Ooh...that looks painful! And thus, peacocks have learned to not let anyone see them flying. Now, as for standing still and showing off those gorgeous flight-impediments, well, that's what they're good at. I particularly like the vivid colors in this one, and that nice, abstract hat he's wearing.

The beauty and the capture are amazing. :))))) I remember when I was little that my dad would take us for a family Sunday ride through the country and there was this one farm that always had peacocks and I just enjoyed seeing them each time we rode past. :))))) Thank you for sharing all the beauty you see. :))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :))))
