Description

Sometimes you need sort out between your true friends, those that you would trust with your life, your partner and even your credit car,and the ones that turn out to be nothing more than malicious spiteful childish small minded persons, full of their own opinions and very critical should you dare to voice your own. It saddens me to know that there's a group of people here that resort to bully boy tactics and all sorts of underhand ploys to get to the top of the popularity charts. Their whole world revolves around how many Favs/Votes/Ratings they get. Get a life for heavens sake. To those that have been effected by this I say, don't let them get to you, post your artwork for yourself and not to please others. On a personal note, I don't always make comments, I simply don't have the time. If this offends you in anyway or you think you'll get a comment back, then please don't bother, I don't wish to be ungrateful, but I'd much prefer you comment on the quality of my artwork and not because you think you'll get something in return. Sorry for the rant, but I've been here 10 years now, and I don't like what is happening one little bit. Ok, Character is a mix of Lady Frostwhisper moprhs by Countess and Silver and a texture by Sarsa over at Daz, pose is by Danie and Marforno, can't remember which one..Hair is Lulu hair by Swam (slightly postworked) and the background is from a new pack I'm working on. Thanks for stopping by :)

I've read your very thoughtful comment and all the replies. I do SO agree. I just stay out of the "Art Charts" area, and comment on whatever catches my eye in the galleries. I actually like to comment, especially if it encourages a friend or someone new. When the childish behavior causes real ARTists to leave Renderosity or delete their galleries in frustration....well, that's bad. It's better (at least for me) not to worry about all of that and just go on with the ART. What frustrates me, is that when you do speak up (like I did in the forum when they were changing it once again), you are treated badly. One guy said that I didn't get the point. Well....you have courage and hope you know that you are a friend and a true artist. Jessie is right "a friend who would stand with you through the worst of storms, that is the real gift." ((((((((Major hugs)))))))))

Yes yes yes Bez, I so agree with every single word. You've stated it as good as I could have myself. Amen!! I love your post. It is a beautiful, quality image. The lighting is perfection and is a joy to view. Thank you for both the beauty of your talent and your extremely wise sentiments. Hugs.

Very well said. I don't even look at the art charts or care, I'm never getting there. I'm here for great art, not popularity. This is a beautiful piece of art. Nice work. ^_^

YAY BEZ!(I agree whole heartedly)Beautiful render TOOO!! I too dont have the time to comment very often as I work 70-120 hours a week, for the most part I dont have the inclination either. I have been a member here since 2000, met my wife jessie here and considered renderosity a home away from home. Ever notice that back in the day there was alot...and I mean ALOT of FANTASTIC WORK here!! my first render machine was a piii 733 with like 500 megs sd ram and a 20g hd and everyone was like ohhhh now THATS a machine! now a days people are running quad core supercomputers waxing poetic about "this render took 3days @36000x42000 and 600dpi" and omfg REALLYYY? REALLLY? MY GOOD LORD TAKE A FREEKING ARTCLASS because a 36000x42000x600dpi poorly lit crap pov cock or set of tits is EVEN SHITTIER than a normal sized render!! and you want commments tooo!!?? F#&* OFF!! clay hobbit blackhearted voodoo picky RogueElement LaurieS These are artists that inspire, there are many more that my old tired cpu cant process at this time but you get the idea. The majority of stuff I see posted these days would or at least SHOOULD be posted in the begginners gallery (or not at all to be honest it hurts my eyes) As for that whole art chart thing? rosity needs to kill it deader than dead or even more actually talented artists will follow suite and leave.

Well Bez what can I say! You have said what a lot of us have kept silent about. I honestly can't for the life of me see why there is a chart, I have seen some fantastic art here that has only had a few comments and hardly any ravs. It seems that if you churn stuff out without any thought and you comment on every image then you are deemed "A great artist" Time for change otherwise this community will kill off anyone who likes to show their art for the enjoyment of doing it. I have said before that without your help I would never have carried on trying to learn Poser, you helped me as a true friend. Why anyone would want to offend you is beyond me you are a true friend to me and many others. Oh and your image ain't bad either! Seriously I love this image the lighting is stunning and I love the hair.

I have been the victim of every type of bullying you can imagine here, ranging from ratings sabotage (stealth low evaluations - sometimes accompanied by hypocritical praise) to vary malicious comments, etc. This is why I have taken down the ratings on my own gallery. But I try to take all of that in stride, not letting it get to me, that is, doing as any good Brazilian would do. I only comment those whom I think deserve to be commented, never because I want to put anyone down or to obtain any advantage. Sometimes there is an answer to someone new making me a post, but that is just being polite, and it is not done all the time. Your work is gorgeous. There is obvious craftsmanship, and the composition is marvelous. The time dials are a nice symbolic touch.

Well said. I post for me, really. I enjoy it when people comment, but it doesn't really affect my day. There are some people whose opinions I respect, some people I like, and just some people. Give the jerks half the peace sign and move on. Great portrait, BTW.

WOOT!! Nice, Bez!!! I agree fully. I don't have time to go through the galleries...and rarely do I post because I feel I really have no business posting opinions. I'm always shocked when I get in the art charts. I think they're having a brutally slow week if I get in there. Hahahahaha!! Seriously, this was much needed and something that's been getting annoying. But not having a filter on what I say, tends to come out very brutal at times. Even my partner (chevybabe25) thinks I'm crazy and a bit harsh. She gets the diplomatic jobs while I get anything where brutality is a plus. :) Oh, Cool render!! And very nice commentary on the state of Rendo galleries in all their weirdness.

Hello, this image is fantastic, and you deserve all the respect as a person, as a friend and as an artist, I do not know who you have hurt or who has said bad things about you, but I know that does not need the votes, the comments, rankings, to see that art is not a positive comment, since art is like the friendship, a rare and precious and you are an amazing friend and artist. Hello I love you Orietta

I totally agree, I don't have time to comment and when I do have the time I comment on images I like. I for one don't think I have ever made it to the arts charts except for maybe once that I know of. I hardly even look at them. I share what I do because I love it. I am grateful to those who comment even when I comment once in a while in their gallery. I have a group of friends that I truly love because of the sincerity in their hearts. There should be a group of people to chose images for the arts chart if they must have it. This was one of my suggestions in the survey I took recently. I work outside of the home so I have very little time to comment and create art. I like to point out the things I like in an image so most of my comments are true and come from the heart. Well said Bez, your art is just so gorgeous and your painting skills are awesome!!!!! I visit the gallery what's new page and comment on images I see there. I rarely have time to go through my e-bots. It's always nice to get feedback on what you create in order to learn more. I know I have learned a lot from people here. I certainly learned a lot from you even if you don't know it. Thank you!

I only started my gallery here very recently and I have been lucky enough to have a few people leave favorable comments to some of my renders and even more fortunate to have people leave critical comments and suggesting how particular renders could be improved. Being so new to this I have never visited any chart and was not aware of the many of the negative trends you refer to. I seldom comment of other peoples work as I do not feel qualified or skilled enough to do so but occasionally I have left comments when the render has really 'spoken to me' Your latest effort took my interest and so did your comments. I agree entirely that any render or art work should be created for no other reason than you wanted/enjoyed doing it or say to something. It is certainly what I try and do, often limited by my own skill level but I can see it have a lot to learn from your work. It gives me something to aspire to and hopefully improve on my efforts to get the thoughts out of my head and onto my screen. So thank you for you have opened my eyes to your work and gallery and know I am going to spend a lot of time there over the coming days and even my first brief look I know it has more value than any chart. Keep doing what your doing and thanks again. Keep up the good work.......oh and I can honestly say I find this picture, and the character fascinating, and I have studied it for quite a while, now all I have to work out is why I am so fascinated.

1st off, great image Bez, I agree, its flawless. Your time & dedication to Poser has paid off. Now... the hard part..... I agree with you 100%, & then some. The Art Charts should be called the "Who has the Most $#!t on Thier Nose Charts" as far as I'm concerned. I've been here almost as long as you, & remember when it was more family here, than now, seeing who can get 1 comment for every 1-3 views. After a long hiatus, I came back to the new & political/ass-kissy-kissy RO. I got totally discouraged & took another hiatus. Since this return I don't let that political BS bother Me. As for comments, I've many times thought about disabling them.... all I get is great work, nice Pin-Up, blah, blah, blah. Eff that ass-kissing for hoping for a return comment.... critique My f*%king artwork, thats why I posted it. If I want someone to kiss My ass, I'll taunt homeless drunks with $20 bills. One last thought.... I totally agree with Dark_Thoughts, 90% of the stuff posted now adays should be in the beginner galleries..... or not @ all. Enough added to whats already here. ~Thomas

Geeezus Bez... but you're such a quiet little Lady in the background upping the standard whenever you post with so much as a blink of an eye... and now this... WOW.. maybe I'll have to up my image of you to a fearsome warrior maiden with bloody big swords and axes ready to swipe off the next wankers head. Good on ya... and 10 years, gees you don't look a day over 30 either. Well done Miss Bez. Oh... like ya piky too.

Well I totally totally relate to what you're saying. You speak words of truth and you're courageous for doing so. Bravo. I can't always comment on artwork but that's because life gets in the way, not because I don't appreciate the artist's work - just haven't had the time to do the comments. I do try to make comments when I can. I have my favorite artists and I love different styles and my comments are not driven by the 'most popular'. When I comment it's because I value the art, the style, the creation. I enjoy your work and your art speaks volumes in the message being conveyed. And yes, your lighting is great as is the posing. But this is beyond that so I wanted to comment to that. Big hugs. :)

First of all, this is a beautiful piece of artwork - the way you framed it with the shadows - the glow on the skin, the way the red hair compliments the freckled complexion and the color choice make it stand out in every way. I'm relatively new here, a little over a year and a half now but I have noticed the art chart thing too. Most of the time I don't bother to look on the charts because I don't think it reflects what is best on this site, though I don't think what is there is bad either by any means, but there are so many extremely talented artists who never see the light of day on it. Artists who are doing very creative and innovative pieces that could honestly be featured on a calendar or in a 3D art book. I wish there was a way that more focus could be put on them because they really deserve it. Anways, thank you for being brave and saying what needs to be said!

I agree with you 100%!!! I have had the pleasure (not) of dealing with these annoying, selfish people! I ignore them, and post my work just because I want to! I comment on others art, if I like it, or if it is interesting, I appreciate all the art on here in one way or another! And this one of yours is really good, the texture, lighting, and over all is awesome! Lets just hope that pendant on that chain puts a spell on these annoying peps, and make them better, caring people! lol! Awesome image!

well, i couldn't agree with you more. this whole art chart, most fav'd, highest rating thing that rosity had instituted several years ago is such a stupid ides and makes folks do such dumb things just to get on the "top of the pile". i turned off my rating thing ages ago, and often just turn off my comments too. have no control over the fav feature--though if i did, i would turn that off too. i simply can't stand this whole tit for tat notion--you comment on my image and i'll comment on yours. it really is so childish. the only thing being on the top of the lists means is that you comment on many others' work. some really fine art is totally ignored. anyway, i always find your work top drawer :)
