Description

This is a frequently painted scene from Greek mythology, where Zeus, having transformed himself into an eagle, kidnaps Ganymede, the shepherd son of a local king to be cup-bearer to the gods due to his exceptional beauty. The usual versions concentrate on the transport of Ganymede, where the (usually ridiculously small) eagle has already captured him, but I thought that it was far more interesting to imagine his trepidation as this giant avian carnivore swoops to snatch him from the hills where he was tending his flocks. Hope you like my version.

Nice concept and great execution. Especially like the shadow of the giant eagle.
