UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Beautiful! Gorgeous color and detail. I'm impressed with the quality of this shot, especially knowing how dim the light was in the garden at the time! Excellent work. :*

BEAUTIFUL

Way past magnificent in this stunningly colorful capture, Bill. Incidentally, the word, rubrum, reminds me of the word, redrum, that was used so liberally in the movie, The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson.

A lovely capture of this beautiful lily. The colouring is so vibrant and the details are very clear.

How gorgeous this is!

this is definitely a 'must-see', full-size: It just renders-up all its power there...The hues of the central flower are stunning and eye-popping, the two flowers atop---which kind of 'frame' the center flower---have wonderful texture (fine capture) with beautiful whites & reds, and the rest of the background is softened & suitably "background". The central flower is downright formidable & very sensuous; and it's a flower 'portrait' in the best sense. Powerful work, Bill, with fine detail throughout. Bill, I commented on your Bedroom Window (fr, today), then wanted to add to it, but upon deleting I couldn't get it back again. I've had this problems with this this week. (The fav disappears when you take down the comment, too.) So be patient, I'll re-post it soon. And I'll be back in yours & tara's gallery again in these coming days: I'm going through 3 or 4 galleries per day & I go back and forth too. But it's a joy to be here publicly: You have a splendid gallery & so very thoughtful as well. And thank you for your comments in mine, they're gold to me, and I'll check out that NY & DC photographer you mentioned. Maybe when I get a better camera, I'll start doing that record of my city over time... Again, a beautiful flower shot & beautifully framed by the other flowers. More fine & finely tuned seeing from your eye. A splendid gallery this is...
