Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Yeah I'll guess a lawn sprinkler too?

I love the way the light creates so many colors on the metal. Wonderful composition!

The back of a chair, BUT, the holes suggest an unusual ornate sprinkler. You reference to your previous post (behind the green house) seems to give the sprinkler association some support. Do we get the right answer in tomorrows installment? :-)

lawn sprinkler turning by the water pressure i think :)

THE BACK OF A CHAIR
whaleman
I like the gunsite idea but at first I thought a chair back, but no, not that. Then I thought of a wind-twirling gizmo because I hadn't noticed the holes. Still, if they were twisted in opposite directions, they might both spin with the water pressure.

What a shot! I suspect it's some kind of sprinkler, as it has holes in the parts large enough to convey water. Of course, it could also be something else, like the wind-up key for a very large music box. Yeah, maybe not, but as you know, my mind wanders off in some of the oddest directions at times, and the idea of a giant music box is rather appealing to me for typically Chip-ish reasons. Great light in this shot and as always, I'm drawn to the nice sense of color.

Objectively, an abstract creation of a butterfly encircled by brass rings? Other than that, I have no idea of its practical pupose.

I vote lawn sprinkler, by the tiny holes around the piping. It's a beauty, and I love your compo!

A fantastic capture and I am in on the sprinkler answer. A beautiful design. Dana

Well, it is not a toasted cheese sandwich that brought a smile indeed sure did I suppose water runs out in the holes that I see to clear the splashes that splat a wonderful feel indeed warm hugs, Linda

Maybe the backrest of a chair? It is mighty beautiful!

I'm gonna have to go with the sprinkler theory, judging by the evenly spaced holes in the inner circle. Ah - what photographer can resist a highly polished copper structure? :-D It makes you just want to run your fingers all over it! A beautiful capture, Bill!

I think it is something to do with a seat? very ornate!!!

A garden ornament of some kind Hopefully:) Hugs Susan~

Boy, if it's a sprinkler, it's way to fancy for my lawn. If it's a chair................it's still too fancy!!!! I think I'll go way out on a limb and guess ........it's something!!! ;)

It's a sword swallowing butterfly, practicing with a pair of scissors :-)
