My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

The talk about rust. And about how they never sleep.

I think they're done talking, the fight is on!

They certainly don't look happy with each other. I really like this stuff. Very totemic. Great capture.

Well, I don't know what they would converse about, but if you can find a bunch more of that (time, I mean) sitting around with nothing to do, would you scan it, and email it to me? I need more of it.... lots more... :-D This really is delightful, Tara! I think they must converse with magetic waves! LOL!

I've been sitting here for a good five minutes entranced by these extraordinary figures. I suspect they never converse when anyone is near but have short fierce exchanges when the coast is clear. All sorts of scenarios have run through my mind, none of them clever enough to share, but I shall probably dream about these folk! A favourite. A doodle could be coming on.

One looks to be saying "Its so bloody cold, I just can't warm up". Nice shot Tara and very thought provoking.

Fantastic shot.

What wonderful statues! I wish they were in my garden! There is such a sense of peace and stillness about them, they may not talk at all. I keep going back to look at them some more...I'll never get off this page!

They look really sour, so I think they are complaining over standing there day and night :) Really beautiful in their rusty costume.

One saying to the other, "Hey, look at those two old people. Who do they think they're kidding?" :)

What a great shot, wow!

An excellent capture of these two. I don't think they get on going by the tilt of there heads, so I don't think they speak to each other.lol.

"I told you." "No you didn't." "Yes, I most certainly did!" "I never heard you." "You never listen to what I say." "......" Typical long-married couple! What a great shot!

"Didn't I tell you this was the sunny side of the garden? I told you to have them put us under that oak tree, didn't I? Well, didn't I?" "I'm not listening." Cool statues and great capture!

I think you've captured The Brothers, the primordial Agaran uber-gods, unless--of course--they're not, in which case...well...they aren't brothers and have absolutely nothing to do with Catalpa trees, the machine, or owls, earwigs, or trees made out of gears. It's funny: I get the impression that these are old soul sorts who have moved beyond sound-speech and maybe silence is their way of talking: there are so many different sorts of silence, after all--just listen to fog and snowfall, each of those things contain so many silences, and no two are ever exactly alike. Some are moist silences...others are non-sound, while still others are anti-sound: I still have to figure out those distinctions. Their conversation is complex, complicated and intense, occasionally punctuated by the sound of wind--of course they have to know a lot about the wind: when it will blow and where, so that their silence may be punctuated in just the right way. They're saying so much, and its perfectly, expressively silent. Well, that's my take on it, and as for this picture. WOW! There's so much to see and explore: textures, colors, relationships both implied and overt. These look more literally like totem figures: really ancient ones, or maybe they're like ancient Egyptian Shawabti figures: inordinately busy, only we can't see what they're doing because they're too busy to stop and let us actually see what they're up to, but it's very important, and on a tight deadline. The possibilities are endless and I can think of at least four distinct stories that could go with this image. I love it when visual stuff stimulates my Muse, but of course my Muse isn't going to tell me anything until approximately 4am.
