Description

Hirundo rustica. This is in answer to Michel's barn swallow series. :) This fellow seemed to be very unafraid of me. I had a 90mm lens on my camera at the time, and, being too close, I had to back off to take this picture. He's sitting on an ornate porch lamp on the porch of the visitor's center, Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge, southern Arizona, USA.

Hé, Pat, this is the first time I hear that one have to back off to take a bird picture... especially for a swallow, they are so fast and afraid for people... So, this is a fantastic shot, showing very well the characteristics of this beautiful bird: elongated outer tail feathers, rufous forehead,... Thank you very much for your wink answer; it's great to interact with you on R'osity, my friend ! :~)
