Description

Photo taken alongside the falls, in order to protect my camera from the overload of water in the air, I covered the camera , except for the lens, by a plastic shower cap, a trick which I have read in a magazine, and works very well …… the shower cap I had taken from a Hotel, I have always a few with me when travelling!!! The falls are surrounded by blue sky, however the mist formed by the falls you can see at miles distance. Due to the huge amount of rain during the rainy season in the area, the water level was still very high, the highest since 20 years!! We made in May 2011 a trip through the southern part of Africa ( RSA, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) , we did not have had one single raindrop during 1 ½ month traveling in the area, however we had our part of the rain in the so called “Dutch Summer”, it is over here in The Netherland such a lousy summer, we have had the wettest summer since 1906.
