Description

I made this as a tribute to all the South African Rhino who are losing their lives almost every day.The situation is very serious indeed, very hi-tech in some cases, the poachers using helicopters to spot the rhino.The Rhino are shot with machine guns or darted and the horns are hacked off with a chain saw or machete, the rhino are sometimes still living and can suffer for hours before succumbing to their wounds. I have had a very tragic and terribly sad month. I got Parvo Virus in my kennels and I lost 4 of my rescues in one week:-(. I lost one of my older dogs, Teddy, earlier on in the month too. I am still reeling from the shock and loss. I wish I could get back into creating but my creative juices are all dried up:-) Enjoy your weekend Luv Ya!! Sylvia

What a beautiful and inspiring image. I am saddened deeply by your loss (I breed dobermanns and have a pug and all other kinds of animals) and can understand your grief. My granmother said that you could never trust someone who doesn't like animals and your words tell me you are a kind and compassionate person. You will find your muse again. Grief overwhelms us sometimes but the pain does dull in time. I'm touched by your tribute to those who are hunted for no more that their body parts to be sold and kept as trophies. Why are we humans so cruel to those we see as weak? Thank you for your image.

A wonderful dedication to these magnificent animals and your colouring is superb. The little meerkat looks cute too. How can people be so cruel. I'm sorry to hear that you have had such terrible losses of your friends. My thoughts are with you.

wild animals are part of the ecosystem of the Earth, our ship, we're just passengers! The greed for some, criminal ways of entertainment for others, and finally the imbecility of the little men Neanderthal brain (few women are unclean these hunts), the unwillingness of the authorities, the multiplication of "private reserves", are only gradually disappear elephants, cats of all kinds, savannah, rivers ... and the vultures will eat their brains, with no other prey to skin! I am extremely sorry for all this bad news for you ยง Your image is superb!

A soulful render, Sylvia. Sorry to hear about your dogs. You have a big heart, but big hearts need a wee bit space to themselves, or they might just burst with the effort. Take care of yourself for your loved ones .. ;o) God bless, from a dull, drizzly Glasgow, John.

In the not too distant future, said RHINO will have LOTS of 'company', unfortunately .... In the future, someone or something will say/post, "The LAST Human"? .... SIGHS.

This is a beautifully done, though sad image.. It is good to remind people not to forget that we are one of many species sharing this planet. And our impact is far too destructive. I am so sorry for your losses.. {{{hugs}}}
