Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
Â
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
Â
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
Â
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Â
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great shot, Bill! For some reason, when I first saw this, I thought "Wow! Bill's got himself a copy of Poser!" LOL! Looks like they're having a reall good time. I would be, too, sitting in the front office of a 'Stang! Love this photo!

The women ferry pilots were a remarkable bunch because they had to qualify on a lot of different aircraft because they flew everything. One of these ladies taught flying with my brother and I always wanted to meet her, but only recently learned that age has caused her memory to depart for clearer skies.

I never even knew there were women pilots back then.....interesting info and photo.

Something you'll find in many parts of the world, neat if you can get the aircraft to go with it :-) The little girl 'nose-art' looks familiar but I can't place it, got any more pics of this beauty..?

Ah...reenactors! Such an interesting human phenomenon! I should be in bed now, but I'm peeking around galleries and I have to say that this is a stunning image. Of course, the only reenactors I know are a couple of Civil War history buffs, though one of them will, occasionally, don a Starfleet uniform as well, complete with a prop-quality phaser and comm-badge with a matte finish, rather than the jewelry-quality finish so common to the comm-badges you can buy. I love the poses in this shot: so casual, so on duty, but during a lull...Super. And now, I'm off to bed.

So, Bill, caught you in the act! And don't tell me that ISN'T you in the cockpit! :) This is really a fantastic photo - so rich in details and color! The WASP sure adds a lot to the image. Good job! :-)

The Mustang is on everybodies list of favorites and with 7 kills this one goes higher on the list. This is a great share Bill! Dana
