Hi, I'm Marilyn. Ă‚Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Ă‚Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Ă‚Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Ă‚Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Ă‚Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Ă‚Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Ă‚Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Ă‚Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I wish I really knew how to describe that color; it's golden, yeah, but it has a kind of buffed honey sort of look to it too! Does that make any kind of sense? I mean, can one actually buff honey? Well, that's the impression I get when I see this color, and I must say that you've captured it so well here! I love your POV as well: almost a bug's eye view, but not quite. For me it's like flying over an alien forest on some Chip-style world, full of odd people speaking really complicated languages that can only be spelled with a whole secondary alphabet on top of the normal, written alphabet. I love it when images evoke that kind of stuff, it means I'll always find inspiration somewhere and I rather like the fact that it grows in a garden for free! This is such a gorgeous shot and I love the somewhat elongated crop! Brilliant.

Very pretty flowers, something that I don't remember ever having in my garden.

What wonderful POV, a veritable forest of marigolds. The light rays and the two precocious flowers standing above the crowd really enhance and complete the image. Superb work, Marigo...Marilyn.

LOL @ Andrea's comment! Stellar backlighting brings out the dramatic contrasts in this fine foto of one of my favorite flowers when I was a child, Marilyn! Don't miss my today's Rustic Elegance #2.
