Description

Our friend's hybrid wolf, Jobu, again. Just kickin' back, enjoying a sunny day, nothin' to do. The local volunteer fire department siren goes off at least once a week for drills, and their siren is exactly the same pitch and tone as Jobu's howl. That siren goes off, and you can bet you'll hear Jobu before the siren has faded. He howls, muzzle in the air, just like a wolf would. I wish I could get a good shot of him like that ... he does it often enough ... but he has a certain place he goes to howl, and it's right in the middle of a bunch of patio chairs. Not exactly a "wolf-in-the-wild" photo op! LOL! I mean ... he never does it on top of a snowy hill in front of a full moon or something nice like that. Ah, well.

I knew a German Shepherd who also had his favorite howling place, especially during those Tuesday at 10am air-raid siren tests that occurred to regularly in Chicago. It was always amusing to hear the siren/dog choir, and I can imagine Jobu doing the same thing--with lawn furniture! I like the intimacy of this shot and the wonderful, stunning details. The pink around the nose is quite a nice, bright splash of unexpected color, especially as a delicious, almost incongruous contrast to the green grass. I like this a lot!

What a lovely creature! Such a beauty - and he looks so soft and huggable - just like a big puppy. Wolves are such a handsome animal - too bad they've been so maligned for decades. This is a wonderful portrait of him - just perfect, Tara!

What a beautiful animal. Excellent image. He may be laid back but the eyes and ear(s) appear to be alert.

He's a beauty! I'll bet those chairs are his 'pack' so why don't you move them further apart around a small hill, on a cold night with a full moon, and wait for a fire drill?

A handsome crature. Buster has a morning howling competion with the parrot, but he stops if I go into the room. Ralphie does join in, I will try and get a shot to show you.

He looks like a beautiful animal. Maybe you can record the siren and play it when he's in a more photogenic place...heehee...just a thought...

What a beautiful portrait! Fantastic compo and detail. I used to have a dog that would howl when airplanes went overhead (we were just outside the landing pattern for Norfolk airport, so they were a bit lower than usual when they went by).

I know this dog! You've captured him to a "T". Maybe a nice printed collage for Dennis and Peri is in the offing? Well done.

Jobu is a precious looking wolf! From just the tiny peak of the eye that we get, I can already tell he's quite a smart little guy... very intelligent looking with such a wise expression. A lovely relaxing scene, my Friend!
