My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

You've beamed me into another realm with this close-up! Makes me think about this exchange: Spock Prime: You are, in fact, the Mr. Scott who postulated the theory of transwarp beaming? Scotty: That's what I'm talking about! How do you think I wound up here? Had a little debate with my instructor on relativistic physics and how it pertains to subspace travel. He seemed to think that the range of transporting something like a... like a grapefruit was limited to about 100 miles. I told him that I could not only beam a grapefruit from one planet to the adjacent planet in the same system - which is easy, by the way - I could do it with a life form. So, I tested it out on Admiral Archer's prized beagle. James T. Kirk: Wait, I know that dog. What happened to it? Scotty: I'll tell you when it reappears. Ahem. I don't know, I do feel guilty about that.

Wonderful light and composition. I don't know if this has anything to do with beaming someone somewhere, but maybe something related to the string theory? Heehee!

A roommate I had in the late sixties would have said, "Wooah, duuude!" Superb abstract. Love the back lighting. It sparkles. In other words, Wooah, duuude!"

After reading Bill's comment, I have to say that I'd love to find out what happened to Admiral Archer's dog...I mean...Porthos, the cheese eating dog was a vital part of the original test-run Enterprise to the point where T'pol actually managed to tolerate him without wrinkling her nose too much (that Vulcan sense of smell, ya know!) It also got me onto a tangent regardiing Nero, the displaced Romulan with the mean tattoo work and a habit of smirkingly saying things along the lines of "Hi, Christopher...I'm going to blow up your ship now." He didn't say it like that, exactly, but I love the fact that he never referred to a Federation starship captain as "Captain." Funny where my mind goes...and in looking at this image, I can definitely see the classic gold tunic, the braiding around the sleeve, and the iron-on decal Federation insignia (which, in the classic series wasn't "Standard." Each starship had its own insignia, which explains why some captains (the few you ever saw) looked as if they were wearing brooches purchased from Woolworth's or some dime-store next to the Paramount back-lots. Okay, I have no clue as to what any of this has to do with this image, but I do have to say that I love this image and the wonderful Star Trek reference. I can hear the Main Bridge computers as I look at this (and speaking of the computers, don't the updated sound effects kick serious butt! I love the opening of the Star Trek reboot with that "space sonar" sound beeping and warbling just before the Kelvin is blown to smithereens by Nero's spacefaring thistle seed-pod with massive Romulan attitude. Okay...back to this picture. I like it. I like it. A lot!

Not being a Trekkie, I have no idea what double warp trails or star fields are. What I do know is that this is awesome, bright and really, really GOOD!!
