65 years ago, the Red Owl, Albania's wartime defender, plunged into the Adriatic Sea to escape the dictator Enver Hoxha. But a new Red Owl has taken flight over the city of Boston. This one is somewhat more technologically sophisticated than her predecessor. Her mantle, for instance, has tiny serrations along the edge that allow her to muffle the sound of her movements, and is laced with nanotechnology that mimics the hearing abilities of the owl.
