Description

This is another old image. It was created back in March. I wanted to participate in RDNA's Carnival Contest, but I forgot about it up until the very last week before the contest deadline. And that week was so busy, I didn't have any time for 3D. I was all ready to give up on entering, but I caught a lucky break in the form of... a flu... The day of the deadline I woke up with a fever so high, I could barely keep my head up, but it meant that "our regular programming" for that day was surely canceled, and that meant I'd be staying home and could devote some time to 3D... if I managed to keep myself conscious, that is. Well, I did stay awake and even managed to complete the image on time, and submit it. I was reusing some parts from the scenes I worked on previously, just because I was really pressed for time and didn't have much brain power to create something completely new. But, I guess, it turned out OK. I planned to revisit the image later and maybe make something better of it. Maybe I still will at some point, but for now I am posting it as is. Your comments and critique, as always, very welcome, and in this case especially, as I might still be coming back to this in the future, and your suggestions will be very helpful then. Thank you.

See, sometimes illnesses are blessings in disguise :-) Beautiful work, as usual! I love the subtle gradient rings coming off the lantern light on the wall, and the pose and lighting are perfect. Great job!

water under bow should be dark and I don't like just the tip of boat missing - should be another foot to left or right (my opinion). The lighting, costumes, posing, atmosphere, etc, is superb! I can see why the image did well. And good job kicking butt when you didn't feel well.
