Description

Mixing fluffy and dark for my friend Angel (Savage-dragon). Take care of yourself and take time to recover cause we need you around this place. :) Character is Margot's new girl - MSTene's Marici at Runtime DNA. She is such a lovely one, and her makeups range from soft to strong. I used a few options to make her a goth girl here. link: http://www.runtimedna.com/Mst-Marici-v4.html The butterflies are from a freebie on Deviant art. They are PNGs http://shoofly-stock.deviantart.com/ The great backdrop is from Jenny and Chucks latest package Femme Fatale. I adore Jenny's backgrounds more than any other I've ever worked with. The shadow under the character was easy to do and I'm gonna share the secret. On the layer of your character, select around the character using the magic wand tool - most graphic editors have those. Then reverse/invert the selection to where it selects inside the character. Make a new layer underneath the character and then fill it with a very dark, not quite black color. Then with the shadow still selected move it downwards a bit and transform it for scale, rotation, and finally distort it so that it is angled away. Play with the opacity to get what you like. I did the same with the butterfly layer too. I see a lot of characters on backgrounds like this and they have no shadow and I wanted to show that you can do one and not spend hours painting one in. :) On a personal note, I have been working now 7 days in a row and moving last week to a new place. It has washer dryer hookups, so very fantastic - no laundry room. I am however going to start looking for a new job, this one is kinda killing my soul and taking all my time and energy. I got a tip for another place, so keep your fingers crossed for me! Again. :)

Very neat trick with the shadows and it certainly works. Thanks for sharing this little secret. Lovely macabre gothic danceworks. Is this the new job you moved to that is so difficult? Hope not.

I love the lighting, and the simplicity of the imagery. Beautiful.
