Description

Greetings To One and All.... Took a scenic drive throughout our area the other day as I do this time of year to see the Fall changes and also to get inspiration so I can create things..Seems these days you don't have to drive very far or to long before coming across abandoned farms littering the country side....especially here in Wisconsin. It's sad really when one begins to think just why is this place abandoned....did they lose their farm to corporate greed?...Did all the family pass away and no one was left to take it on....or did the remaining members of the family not want the property?...As I journeyed along I came across a farm setting similar to what I created above with no signs...no barricades preventing one from rummaging around(not that I would).....just completely abandoned...It looked as if no one had been there for a very long time...Their was old cars and machinery throughout the entire property(some had trees growing right through the windshield or up through the trunks or motor compartment...Didn't take long for the creative juices to flow....I guess normally folks would take a few pictures for a scrap book but as for me I just take mental pictures and place them in a folder in my imagination for later references....case in point here...So here I present something from my travels and my imagination placed together to bring you this latest creation entitled "Just Memories Now" for your viewing pleasure...Hope You Like It!....(smiles).. ~Will~ *** Our 1st seasonal frost is this coming Thursday/Friday ***.... Guess the growing season is over and winter will soon be rearing it's ugly head...(sigh)... Created in Bryce 7 with post work in Adobe Elements 8 Various car/barn models from archive3d.net Landscape created using various Bryce presets and tree lab...Lighting/frame and post work using Elements 8

Marvelous work on this beautiful scene. Our area also has many derelict farms. It is a sad feeling when you explore them. We have had a couple of hard frost nights already. Normally have snow by mid september, but it looks like it will be a couple weeks yet before the snow is here for serious.

Nice Bryce work! I wonder how many of those are the result of foreclosures. I think a lot of people are retiring from farming, either getting older and no one wants to take it over, or they can't compete with corporate farms. A lot of that land is likely being rented out, and others are working it. Either that or a bank snagged it from some poor fellow.

KW: SUPERB creation/concept/work!! John Mellencamp recently wrote and sang a song, GHOST TOWNS ALONG THE HIGHWAY .... The days of SMALL anything are GONE, I fear my Wisconsin FRIEND .... SIGHS .... BIG is NOT always BETTER .... But, for some reason unknown to this DUMB old man, it seems like AMERICA can't understand that? .... Those who HAVE have MORE .... Leaving LESS to those with LESS .... NOT a good policy/idea for OUR AMERICA, I'm afraid, KW .... My BEST To you and yours .... T.P.
