I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Quite a nice texture, Mike! It really does look like aged bricks or pavers. Actually, I wish I could put a low wall like this in my yard - maybe a circle or oval shape with some nice low flora, and a dozen or so of those solar powered LED lights around the perimeter... See - now you've got me redesigning my whole yard! LOL! Very cool Photoshop playing, my friend!

would make a wonderful building texture in a 3D program for sure

This is so cool. It reminds me of the brood cells in a yellow jacket nest; they have a nice bubble-wrap texture to them, but you can see that they're constructed of paper and maybe even silk woven by the larvae inside, pupating into stinging, fashion-forward tea-raiders. Needless to say that just took the appeal of this "shot" into another direction. I love the colors and the overall texture. The title gave me a good laugh too: I was thinking of the various ages we've named in human history: the Dark Ages, the Peleolithic Age, the Bronze Age...and yeah, wedged somewhere in there, the False Age, but I have no idea what happened (or will happen) during that time period. It's an interesting thing to try and figure out, though. This is a marvelous creation and I love the fact that it just came about at random. Superb! Oooh, I wonder if it could also be a Nemaean wall texture...one never knows, especially if Nemaeans are involved.
