Description

Shot in Maine...but could be anywhere. Nature provides us with such beauty even in death...for in that death are the seeds and the promise of new life.

How beautifully put in your caption, and you are indeed right... nature has a very nurturing way of makig even death something beautiful, as though it is entirely reversed within its own cycle. Such a delicate and gentle image! Thank you so much for sharing!

Very nice capture. Personally i would increase the saturation a bit to get some stronger colors.

A friend of mine once declared that death is life in reverse. I kinda like that, but then I like my friends, especially the ones who have a different take on things. It's so refreshing, and in a sense, so natural. I like that element of this shot as well. Death is actually just a transitory thing, I think...as transitory as life itself. I can't say that there are ways to enjoy death, but I think that there are things to learn from it, especially in cases like this, in which it provides us with a sort of beauty that requires a lack of arbitrary judgement in order to see. This is a great shot, especially for me, since I find endless fascination in dead vegetation: it contains so much; it implies so much, its raw material for the next generation of living things.
