A friend of mine once declared that death is life in reverse. I kinda like that, but then I like my friends, especially the ones who have a different take on things. It's so refreshing, and in a sense, so natural. I like that element of this shot as well. Death is actually just a transitory thing, I think...as transitory as life itself. I can't say that there are ways to enjoy death, but I think that there are things to learn from it, especially in cases like this, in which it provides us with a sort of beauty that requires a lack of arbitrary judgement in order to see. This is a great shot, especially for me, since I find endless fascination in dead vegetation: it contains so much; it implies so much, its raw material for the next generation of living things.
