Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Hmmmmmmmm. When I opened this, after jumping back EVER so slightly, my first thought was:"Very, VERY large dog eats Toyota Prius." Then I noticed it was a bear and though: "Large bear, thin glass, sudden unintentional bowel movement." Then you told me it was stuffed. Then I thought about Tony Perkins in "Psycho." There's something kind of CREEPY about stuffing dead things. I've always sort of WONDERED about people into this rather curious hobby... Anyway, this is a great, arresting shot.

Now there's something I don't see every day, though I hear in the city of Irkutsk, you might still have a problem with bears rummaging through dumpsters, thus there are bear warnings posted all around the city, more toward the outskirts, I'd assume... ...What an unexpected shot! Stuffed or not, this is quite a formidable creature, and it reminds me of a lot of the bear-references I've heard and read in the past, including a rather funny line in an Ursula K. LeGuin story: "Porridge on Islac" which can be found in the collection: Changing Planes. Rather briefly, the narrator of the story simply declares: "I thought they must have rather odd bears on Islac." And needless to say, THAT line popped into my head, immediately. I love it when a great photograph triggers the recall of a great story. And what a shot this is. I love the teeth and the reflections and the incongruity of that: bear teeth and reflections? Now there's a relationship you don't consider every day! What a shot!
