Description

Minus the roll part, of course. Captured back on 11/8/07, early in the morning, within trekking distance of where I lay my head at night. Plenty of detail and repetition here, and worth a ZOOM. Sometimes fascinating and surprising to encounter what someone leaves on their front yard by the curb. So, how 'bout us tickling the ivories on this old timer....a duet of chopsticks perhaps, or maybe a quickie run on Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata? Tallyho, thankx for dropping by, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

Wow, that's gotta be worth something, imagine just leaving it out for anyone to take or for the weather to further ruin???? What a great find and captures, did you ride it home?

How weird - a baby-bottle just laying there ? I wish they would have left the piano outside my front-door - and no, I can't play but - it would make a great decorators item ! great catch Harry, BB

Sad that it is thrown away! My Mother was competent boogie woogie pianist.

You sure encounter interesting things on your daily walks, I have never seen a piano sat out as trash before. Cool capture.

Why? Why is it there? Why did someone dump that? What a shame..... Sad you even found it to get these shots Harry! Should be in a bar or Museum! The Piano, not the baby bottle! LOL Rob

My one regret about your getting Last Week in the Gallery for this is that you haven't gotten it a lot more. As an old pianist, I took to this when it went up. But it's not just "dear to my heart" for the beat up & forlorn piano. It's the shot itself. It has an almost nostalgic haze towards the far end, and a slightly purplish one at that. And the pov is monumental---these beasts are monumental, even when they're beaten up---as is the key & string detail. And you didn't remove the bottle either: The bottle is perfect, another piece of refuse sitting by this poor old king in perfect counterpoint to it. And finally, part of the art is choosing the subject: You chose a grand one, beaten-up but princely, and showing it as if it were posing, with its wear & tear as part of its gown. Wonderful slice of life, and an object I'll always bow to...love it.
