Description

The Sinkyone wilderness is part of the King's range, the King's range is the backbone forming the "Lost coast". This mountain range receives a phenomenal amount of rainfall coming in from the Pacific. It is so rugged the area earned the name "Lost coast", for it is almost devoid of roads. I'll admit to being an early riser. Taking great pleasure in the subtle changes in nature that take place at nightfall and sunrise. This morning I got to appreciate how these capes create some of the moisture that keeps the last remaining empire of Redwoods alive. The sun has been up better than an hour, and though it has yet to make it to where I am, due to the mountains. Where it touches the sea a fog bank has begun to form. This bank of fog will eventually blanket the area in about an hour to where visibility is all of 10 meters. Visibility now must be 50 kilometers, but as quick as it forms a short time later it burns of as the sun rises towards mid day. Before the fog dominates the coast line small parts of the forming bank waft towards the cape and rise in curls of vapor against the cliffs. Some rise to join the clouds most fall back towards the sea increasing the bank of fog. Leaving for the valley in a few hours, be back in a couple days. A great weekend! To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below. thumb_2250419.jpg

This is a very great capture, it shows very well how the mist rises from the sea. The plants in the foreground give an extra demensie to the whole, and the depth of this beautiful picture.
