Description

Friday, September 23, 2011 12:30 The "Battle of the Bulge" continues, with the "bulge" apparently loosing against the digging machines! When they've removed the bulge, I wonder how they will get the digging machines out of the hole? :) The vertical walls that were drilled and poured early in this series are seen around the hole. See image from Nov. 23, 2010 at - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2138195&user_id=5273&np&np To get an idea of how much dirt and rock has been removed, check my post from June 19, 2011 at - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2214764&user_id=5273&np&np As the dirt and rock have been romoved, the reinforcing iron rods have been laid out and concrete has been poured. More than 3/4 of the base area to be poured is now finished. Those Irish concrete workers are very efficient! The whole concrete base plate should be completed in another two weeks. Then comes the next step - where will the walls be erected? Enjoy! :)

Good news for the concreters...SUN ! As for the digger removal, it seems there has be a crane rig delivered to the site in the upper right and I bet they will use that to do the job once all the digging of the bulge dirt is completed. Neat up-date & ~Cheers~
