The "Battle of the Bulge"... and it looks like the "bulge" is on it's last leg against the digging machines! Poor bulge...resitance was futile!
The digging machines escape route out of the construction pit is located just behind the remnant of the "bulge". That's where the entrance/exit to the underground garage is located. The previous image in the "bulge" series was photographed on September 23 and is located at -

This photo and today's post give a pretty good idea of the progress and speed of the digging and the laying of the reinforced concrete foundations. In a few more days the foundation work will be completed.
The blue latice work tower in the background is a tall crane erected yesterday and today for the construction of the garage and buildings to be erected above it. Another such crane will be erected to the right in the foreground. The crane is spanking new - I wonder if it was made specially for this project. I'll have to check with some construction worker. It was rather hair-raising watching the workers balancing on parts of the crane high in the air as they assembled it part by part. It's a LONG way down! I'll post a photo of it tomorrow.
Enjoy! (The poor bulge certainly isn't!)

That looks like one huge mess at first glance doesn't it! It's great to see something like this form over time though, a building has "gone up" in the last year where I work, all the stages being quite vivid and clear from where I sit!

Wow, so many steps in the creating of amazing architecture. Great shot of the bustle and hard workers- thanks for sharing! :) And have you checked out the Photography Story Challenge? Go continue the story!
