Hi there folks, back again....at last, this time i have had no phone line since the 23rd (due to a problem at the exchange apparantly )..and finally it came back on about 4.00pm this afternoon...not bad considering they said it was going to be the 28th before it was fixed !!!! .So no broadband. And apparantly if i ring India ( where the call centre is, strange as i am in the Uk )i can then apply for compensation for loss of any income or no line for calls....tried that, after 21.35 minutes, the very helpfull person there just asked me if i wanted BT Broadband !! Go figure, and also apparantly the BT repair people don't work weekends...wonder what happens if a hospital or Police/Fire Brigade call centre looses their phone line ? Me, nah, i'm not bitter...MUCH !! Oh and ZOOM is nice , cheers

2121: WELCOME to the present day 'WORLD ECONOMY' and OUTSOURCING! .... I too, have spent FUN HOURS with said INDIA TECHS over Internet and Cable issues .... The FIRST ODD thing, among MANY, is that they ALL had NAMES of BOB, CHUCK, TOM, MARY, etc. but ALL had THICK INDIAN 'accents'! .... SMILES .... So, when this DUMB old geezer PRESSED them, he got them to FINALLY ADMIT that those were NOT their REAL names but they only USED them cuz' they were TOLD it made THEM MORE "AMERICAN" friendly! .... So, DUMB T.P., in his familiar 'sarcasm', replied: "So, the FIRST impression I and OTHERS get from YOU TECHS are that you ALL LIE!? .... Needless to say, 2121, T.P. elicited a LONG PAUSE at the other end. I SMILED and HUNG UP .... GRINS.
