Description
In 1941, Swiss engineer, Georges de Mestral, came back from a hunting trip, in the Swiss Alps, with his dog. He found that his clothes and his dogs fur were covered with burrs, the seedpods of the burdock (any of a group in the genus Arctium). I have fought them many times but now I stay out of weeds because of ticks and lime disease .superb macro

We used to encounter weeds like this in the fields under the powerlines when I was a kid. used to have to pull them off our socks, sneaker and bluejeans. :) Great capture!

Luckily my dogs are too short for this species to be a problem, and Ralph is too short-haired. Huge stands of this plant grow at the riverbank. It goes into a good drink..Dandelion and Burdock. I love these! They make such gorgeous flowers, when they actually bother to flower...they do so, for a brief period and then they become these things, and I love them just as much. I love the colors here and the details are superb! Really nice! Funny, I came home a few nights ago and found one of these stuck to my blanket. I wonder where my blanket has been going when I'm not home!
